Vehicle Detailing in St. Louis, Missouri
A detail done by an auto body shop is a slightly different animal than one done at a wash tunnel. We spend our days looking at paint under booth lighting, which tends to change what a person notices about a finish.
What the St. Louis calendar does to a car
Oak and sycamore pollen in April bonds to a warm clear coat and etches it if it sits. Summer brings tree sap and insect residue, both acidic. Winter road treatment gets into rocker panels and wheel wells and stays there. None of this comes off with a drive-through wash, and a machine brush will add fine scratches while it fails.
The work
Decontamination first, so nothing embedded gets dragged across the surface during polishing. Then paint correction to the extent the clear coat can safely take, since polishing removes a measurable amount of it and an over-polished panel cannot be undone. We assess thickness before deciding how aggressive to be. Interiors get the same order of operations: extract, then treat, then protect.
After a repair, or on its own
Most customers see this as the last step of a collision job, where a freshly refinished panel makes the untouched ones look dull by comparison and evening out the whole vehicle finishes the picture. It is also perfectly reasonable as a standalone booking, whether you are listing the car for sale, coming off a lease, or just tired of looking at it.
Ask us to price it alongside your repair estimate, or call (314) 353-3122 to book detailing by itself. We are at 8014 Gravois Rd, closed weekends.
