The lease return problem

If you are coming to the end of a lease, this is not an abstract question. Wear-and-tear standards are written by the leasing company, assessed with a gauge at turn-in, and charged back at rates set by them rather than by any local shop. A door ding that falls just outside the allowance can cost more in penalties than fixing it properly beforehand. A crease along a quarter panel, a scuff where a fascia meets the fender, a dent that appeared in a parking lot: any of these can sit entirely in the outer skin, or can mean a bracket behind it has moved. Modern fascias also house parking sensors, radar, and camera hardware, and an impact firm enough to mark the surface is sometimes firm enough to shift a sensor's aim. We check what is behind the panel before quoting the panel.

What the repair looks like

Where the paint is intact and the metal is accessible, paintless dent work keeps the factory finish. Where it is not, the panel gets repaired and refinished to the same standard as a major collision job, with the color blended so the corrected area is not a visible rectangle.
