Custom Auto Paint in St. Louis, Missouri
Paint is the part of an auto body job everyone can judge from ten feet away, which is exactly why shortcuts in the booth are so easy to spot a year later.
Matching a finish that has already aged
Your factory color code is a starting point, not an answer. Six years of Missouri sun changes a red or a silver measurably, so a panel sprayed to the original formula will read as a patch against the ones around it. We spray test cards, compare them on the vehicle in daylight, and adjust the mix until it disappears. Where proper procedure calls for blending into the adjacent panels or refinishing the full unibody, that is what we quote. We do not spot-shoot a door and hope.
Full custom work
A customer brought us a Ford Mustang built to run the quarter mile in seven seconds. A technician at a previous shop had backed into the quarter panel, and the car carried enough custom fabrication that most shops would not touch it. We replaced the quarter panel and refinished the entire unibody rather than trying to hide a seam on a show-level build. It races today with no evidence anything happened.
That is the same booth and the same crew that shoots a daily driver's fender. Show-quality color changes, clear coat restoration on sun-damaged finishes, and single-panel refinishing all go through the identical preparation standard.
One thing we do not do
We do not take on standalone corrosion projects. Rust found within the scope of a collision or refinishing job gets addressed properly as part of that work, but a vehicle needing dedicated corrosion treatment is better served by a shop built around it.
Bring the car by 8014 Gravois Rd and we will look at it in natural light with you.
